TEACHERS TESTIMONIALS

“Kaluga International School has provided me with a great opportunity to develop as a teacher. I always wanted to work abroad and immerse myself in a new culture. KIS is a school with a vast international community that has allowed me to develop my professional teaching skills and experiences in a supportive environment. As a teacher, I believe that a focus should be placed on the whole development of a child and KIS is a school that promotes academic development alongside the social and personal development of each student. In addition professional development for staff is both promoted and encouraged. I am delighted that I chose to begin my teaching career here at KIS!" - Sile Ni Thuathail from Ireland, Middle School Maths & Science

“I am really enjoying the opportunity to work at Kaluga International School. It's a big responsibility, but also great fun to work at a developing school, knowing that everything you do is setting the standard for the future.

We are part of a small but active international community. The staff at the school are very welcoming and there is a great social scene. The children are fun to spend time with and very keen to learn.

Kaluga is a very pleasant, safe town with an interesting history and some cool attractions. The people are extremely warm-hearted, which makes up for the very cold winters..." - Sam White from the UK, Middle School English, Humanities & PE

“Kaluga is a large, interesting, historical, modern city with all the usual amenities: galleries, cafes, pubs, shopping, and sport (especially skiing and shooting). Theatres & cinemas are only in Russian, so are limited for expats. The local market is huge, sells everything and operates every day of the year. The local people are friendly and willing to help. Many people are learning to speak English and like to engage in conversation with native English speakers.

Our apartment is bright, modern and comfortable, comprising living, dining/kitchen and 2 bedrooms. Utilities are included in the rent

Moscow is a wonderful place to visit. The train takes about 3 hours and similar by car, depending on traffic and destination. There are other, smaller cities around Kaluga worth visiting, such as Tula and Terusa." - Lynn Taylor from Australia, PYP Homeroom Teacher
