KIS invites prospective students to attend up to three trial days before enrolment. This service is offered free of charge and gives the student and parents reassurance as to whether the school is a good fit for the student. It also gives the school an opportunity to observe the potential student in a number of situations and assess their social and academic skills.

 

Trial days can be arranged with a minimum of three school days notice to the class teacher. Trial days will not be offered during the last two weeks before the winter and summer vacations. This way the school can ensure that the prospective student’s experience represents typical school days. 

 

During trial days the student can attend classes from the start of the school day until lunchtime (8:30 to 12:10). Parents or designated carers are responsible for ensuring that the child arrives at school by 8:20am. Parents can attend for the first 15 minutes of the first day and then they may wait in the reception area or return home. For younger children (3-5 years) who have never attended childcare or school before, special arrangements may be made about a parent being in class longer or the child arriving later and leaving earlier. Parents should arrive on time to collect the child to avoid any distress.
